What Do We Do?
Our Republic is a constituted member organisation. Every year, we elect our Committee, who are then empowered to campaign on our behalf.
Our campaigning involves:
Lobbying our elected representatives to take public stances in support of an elected head of state.
Lobbying the main Scottish parties to adopt support for an elected head of state.
Bringing together pro-republic voices through discussion and debate.
Providing a trusted source of informed and reasonable information about the republican cause for journalists and researchers.
Organising regular gatherings and protests to make sure our voice is heard loud and clear.
The majority of our activism is organised via Discord and Facebook. Though we are also easy to contact via Twitter, Bluesky and email.
How does it work?
Our Republic membership is through Patreon. Signing up to our Patreon grants you access to our member newsletter and a discussion space on Discord where we coordinate much of our campaigning.
We use a tiered membership system of between £1-£10 per month and ask members to pay what they can.
Membership of Our Republic entitles you to vote in our AGM, get involved in organising our campaigns and rallies and become a member of our committees & sub-committees. In return, we ask you not to bring the organisation into disrepute.
